Teacher Leaders Program

From the very beginning, Toledo Federation of Teachers has encouraged leadership positions among its members. The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) Teacher/Paraprofessional Leaders Program (TLP) brings together a select group of teachers and paraprofessionals throughout the school year to learn how to take active leadership roles in their schools, unions and communities. Participants in the program help to strengthen the union and its connection to the community building greater support and understanding of public schools.

The 2024-2025 TLP
Are you passionate about education? Are you ready to make a difference in educational policies locally, statewide,
or even nationally? If so, the Teacher Leader Program (TLP) might be right for you! TFT is looking for thirteen innovative minds who are ready to use their voice and enthusiasm to become a leader in our schools and union. Selected participants will design and conduct research with like-minded educators to empower our community for the sake of education.

Meetings will be held in person on a monthly basis beginning Saturday, October 12th, 2024. If you are interested in the TLP, please download the application here:
